About the artist:
Trina Schart Hyman illustrated over 150 children's books over more than thirty years. She was awarded four Caldecott awards and was the initial Art Director for Cricket magazine. Her paintings have enriched a wide range of literature, including St. George and the Dragon, A Child's Calendar, and Swan Lake. Ms. Hyman lived and worked on a farm in Lyme, New Hampshire.
