Archaeopteryx, the first good example of a "feathered dinosaur", was discovered
in 1861. Birds and non-avian dinosaurs share many features. Birds share over a
hundred distinct anatomical features with theropod dinosaurs, which are generally
accepted to have been their closest ancient relatives. This poster shows 18 magnificently
detailed illustrations of the various species of feathered dinosaurs. The three
insets across the top explore Feather Evolution, Wing Evolution and Flight Evolution.
Across the bottom, additional insets explore Brooding Dinosaurs, the Dinosaur
Family Tree, Parts of a Feather and a special section that discusses Discoveries,
Discussions and Debates. This is truly a comprehensive overview of an exciting
cutting edge subject.
